About the Role

Qatar Duty Free is actively seeking a dedicated and dynamic Shop Supervisor to join our world-class retail team in Doha. In this pivotal role, you will support the Duty Manager in coordinating daily shop floor operations. Your primary focus will be on driving retail sales, delivering unparalleled customer service, and ensuring effective visual merchandising.

Key Responsibilities

As a Shop Supervisor, you will lead by example, motivating your team to achieve daily sales targets while maintaining operational excellence. Your core duties will include:

  • Operational Leadership: Assist the Duty Manager in organizing daily shift requirements, including staffing, cash handling, and stock management, to maximize sales and ensure strict adherence to company policies.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels closely, address discrepancies with relevant parties, and prevent stock shrinkage from exceeding budget limits.

  • Workflow Management: Execute daily shift priorities to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.

  • Team Training: Conduct hands-on, on-the-job training for new sales staff to elevate their customer service skills and deep product knowledge.

  • Compliance & Integrity: Facilitate random, daily spot checks on tills (ASH) to uphold the company’s high standards of honesty and integrity.

  • Seamless Transitions: Coordinate comprehensive shift handover briefings covering daily tasks, store conditions, sales targets, and operational challenges.

  • Store Standards: Complete rigorous closing procedures, ensuring tills, stock conditions, and visual merchandising meet strict visual standards.

  • Customer & Transaction Management: Handle sales returns, authorize employee discounts within limits, and manage void slips according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Guest Experience: Address customer feedback proactively. Resolve complaints effectively and escalate complex issues to management for continuous improvement.

  • Promotional Briefings: Communicate daily with the sales team regarding special promotions and new product launches to ensure maximum retail readiness.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this fast-paced and rewarding environment, you should bring a strong mix of retail expertise and leadership capabilities:

  • Education: High School qualification is required.

  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of job-related experience in retail or customer service.

  • Inventory Skills: A proven track record and direct hands-on experience in daily stock and retail inventory management.

  • Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to handle complex operational issues and negotiate effectively.

  • Industry Knowledge: Previous experience in the travel retail or luxury shopping industry is highly preferred.
